LPDM: Linux Paperless Document Management

LPDM is a simple, linux-based document management system for bills and other important documents.  It comes in the form of a shell script that, in one step, scans, converts to PDF, and organizes your documents.  Once you’ve scanned all your important documents, backup your hard drive and take all that paper to your local recycling center! Installation

  1. sudo apt-get install imagemagick
  2. sudo apt-get install sane-utils
  3. sudo apt-get install gs
  4. sudo apt-get install pdftk
  5. Download LPDM above

Usage

paperless.sh -p payee [-d date] [-n numpages ]

Configuration

Modify the DIR and CFG variables to suit your installation and you may need to install scanimage and convert to make it work.  The script is well documented, so all your questions should be answered there. Get scanning!
